‘Lattes and luxury give public transport a tick’ The West Australian, 26 July 2015

“Here’s the question: What is cheaper? Adding an extra lane of traffic or creating more attractive buses and trains so people choose not to make so many car trips,” Mr Litman said.

“ Transport planners do all this analysis and modelling but good public transport should not just be about speed or price.”

He said it should also be about “enjoyability” and quality on the bus and train and while waiting to catch them. “

I can’t think of a better place to put public art than at a train or bus station — just like they have done in the Stockholm underground and around the world,” he said.
